Hi, I’m Emma

I’m the florist behind Sweet Stems.

I’ve always loved flowers, colour and creating things. Sweet Stems grew pretty naturally from there and has become my little floral studio in Edgecumbe.

I create flowers for weddings, events, businesses and everyday moments, working across the Bay of Plenty and further afield.

I’m drawn to interesting colour combinations, beautiful flowers and designs that feel natural and a little unexpected. My style is always evolving and I love having the freedom to create around the season, the setting and what’s looking especially good at the time.

I’m happiest when I’m given a few ideas, a bit of creative freedom and trusted to bring it all together.

Creating with feeling

I love beautiful flowers, obviously, but for me it’s also about how they make a space feel.

I like working with the season, the setting and the people I’m creating for, rather than following a set recipe or recreating something that’s been done before.

Every job is a little different, which is probably why I still love what I do.
