This year’s Bayfair install brought together two big floral statements — Kiwiana Christmas and Tropical Summer — full of colour, texture, and those feel-good vibes.

Designing florals for a beautiful wedding day at @waingararavalley last summer.

@freshcutflowerwholesalers provided the most stunning blooms, and together we pulled the colour brief into life. In the months and weeks leading up to a wedding, there are multiple check-ins with the fresh cut team — refining the brief, making adjustments, and ensuring every detail aligns. Then, right before delivery, a final call as my order is packed, double-checking quantities and quality. 🌿

There’s so much thought that goes into this process — shape, length, longevity, colour, seasonality, weather, and of course, the fact that flowers are living and perishable. It’s always a true team effort to make it all come together. The growers, the wholesalers, the courier and then me 🌿🤍

But just look at how flowers elevate the space !

Like flowers, business has its seasons.

Some months are full of colour and fast paced, others are slower — a time to reflect and plant new seeds.

Right now, Sweet Stems is in one of those slower seasons. June and July are naturally quiet in the flower world. I take this time to meet my upcoming wedding clients, plan mood boards, take time for myself, and for this season in particular - pouring lots of love into a local community project.

Ive always been the type to see something more. More potential. More connection. More beauty in everyday

Here's your reminder to set the bar high + follow the visions that others might not see yet. Because what have you got to loose??

From the moment I meet these guys on zoom, I could just tell – two people so at ease with each other, full of warmth and joy. Their day at the gorgeous Old Forest School looked like it reflected exactly that - something truly special.

For their florals, I kept things soft, delicate, and romantic – with lots of gentle textures and dreamy blooms that suited the couple perfectly. Creating floral designs that not only add beauty but also feel like they belong in the story of the day is key!

The past eight weeks have been a combination of early mornings, beach days, off grid adventures, and soaking up precious family moments before the kids headed back to school. It has been an absolutely beautiful summer and every year I’m reminded that one day - these WILL be the good ol days! 😍

Now, I have a full cup (and a slightly quieter house!), I’m ready to dive back into all things flowers. 2025 is shaping up to be an incredible year of all the things I love. Flowers, creativity, love, family, friends and connection.
